on Humanity

What my eyes notice. What I feel in the moment. What remains in the image.
Explore

I photograph the emotions I find in others — and the ones that surface in me as I watch.

These photographs are not records of places. They are a way of sharing how the world appears to me: a gesture, a pause, a contradiction, a quiet form of dignity. Each image begins with an encounter and remains open to the person who sees it.

The exhibition ends here.
The journey doesn’t.

The photographs above are arranged by emotion. The map offers another path through the work: each country reveals only a glimpse of a wider photographic archive. The complete body of work lives beyond this website, through exhibitions and future publications.

About

I photograph what my eyes see — and how people make me feel.

Portrait of photographer Giorgia Militerno

Photography is how I translate the world I see into emotion. While travelling, I am drawn to people and to the fleeting moments in which a gesture, an expression or a silence reveals something honest.

My photographs show not only the people before me, but also what I feel while observing them. I want each image to remain open enough for the viewer to bring their own memories, questions and emotions to it. Beyond geography, culture and belief, I search for what we share: tenderness, curiosity, solitude, humour and dignity.
